I left the house today!
Normally this would not be news, but there is nothing normal about these times which we are all forced to live through.
As THE coronavirus continues its “March Across the Land” tour, Stamford seems to have a front row seat! With cases in Stamford up 71% from the week before, Mayor Martin asked those who can stay in, to please do so.
Despite Mayor Martin’s advice, I could not refuse the excitement of a trip to Motor Vehicles.
Connecticut requires that you receive a Connecticut driver’s license within 30-days of establishing residency. For the pandemic, they extended that by six-months; which means I was only 14-months late!
Assuming that no place could be any less safe in a pandemic than the DMV, on the way home I stopped to grab a few cigars. Raj, the owner of this cigar store, is a bit like Sam the bartender from the TV show “Cheers!” All the enthusiasm, though he doesn’t know your name! “My friend it’s so good to see you!” he shouted when I walked in. I’ll assume he was being sincere but since he was wearing a mask, I can’t be sure. Raj mentioned that they had moved my regular smoke, THE Montecristo Espada, and pointed to their new location.
As I left Raj shouted from behind the counter, “Say hello to your girlfriend!” Which made me wonder if I was asking Guy to pick up cigars too often or if perhaps Raj’s emphatic “MY FRIEND!” when I walked in was intended for someone else.
My excitement for the week behind me, I headed back to the Corporate Headquarters of THE Revolution E-commerce.
With Townlinepaint.com up and running, I have been focusing my attention on adding to my growing list of databases and getting the other five sites I am working on prepared to launch in the coming days.
And, looking for more Minutemen!
